Club's Humorous Speech & Evaluation Contest (Aug 2004)
We just had our very own first club Humorous and
Evaluation contest. What an exciting and enriching afternoon!
Tracy Tang, our dearest President, emerged as double champion. Well done,
Tracy! We're proud of you.
In the Humorous contest, Choon Siong is first runner-up, and Choon Bin is
second runner-up. Both of you really tickled us. (Lubna's laughter is good
evidence.)
In the Evaluation contest, Choon Bin is first runner-up and Choon Siong is
second runner-up. (I'm wondering if the name 'Choon' is auspicious!)
This contest would not have been possible without Lisa Yeo, who charmed us
as the Toastmaster of the Day and Contest Chairman.
We're also grateful to appointment holders: Cher Hwee, Swee Kiat, Jimmy, Chow
Boon and James (our newest member!). Special thanks go to kind friends from
Tampines West TMC -- Daniel, Charles and Irene.
Last but not least, we thank our diligent contest organizer and VP Education,
Choon Siong for ensuring that the event ran smoothly all the way.
Each contestant is already a winner because they have the courage to participate.
As one of the contestants, I have gained valuable experience and truly enjoyed
the adrenalin rush of competing. I strongly encourage members to join future
contests. Afterall, only with experience comes confidence.
